Activities are a listing of all Actions associated with a Task. This includes system generated Activities. Resources can be assigned for an Activity to a particular user. This can be a different user then the one who was assigned to the associated Task.
The Task tracking facility allows the user to track the Activities taken to ensure the successful completion of a particular Task. These are referred to as “Activities”. Activities are listed on the Task Activity Maintenance Listing screen, for a particular Project and Task. Add function is used to add new activities to a Task.
This panel allows you to add new activities and maintain existing ones.
Add new activity
- In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Book Publishing > Others > Utilities > Database Maintenance and double-click BP To Do List. BPM330 To Do List panel appears listing all the activities for a particular resource.
- Select the activity with option Add Activity. BPM310 Activity Maintenance panel for maintaining existing or adding new activities appears.
| Field | Description |
| Project Id | The Project Id identifies the name and/or number of the Project. This number is used throughout the Book Production system to access all the details of a Project. |
| Spec Id | The Spec Id identifies the name and/or number of the specification defined for the project. It is the specification for which activity has been added. |
| Task | The task code for the work performed. Note: if this field is left blank the default task set up on the Employee Masterfile defaults. |
| Description | When using the Activities option the description is a meaningful description of the Activity. |
| Resource | This is the person who is completing the task |
| Follow up | Defaults to Y = Yes and can be overridden. This field requires a Y/N flag to determine whether to follow up on the activity being performed. |
| Follow up date | Defaults to the current date as the follow up date and can be overridden. |
| Activity type | Determines the Activity type used to define whether tracking for the activity is allowed. |
| Text | Determine whether to copy the existing text of the project to the new project. When within Commitments this is free form text about the commitment. When within activities this is free form text about the activity. |
- Enter all the required fields.
- Click Add. New activity is added.
