Multiple Book IDs can be defined for each Project and each Book ID can have its own book spec, schedule, paper materials and template. Multi book specs are allowed for one major Project where they all have one single budget. These options must be validated on TMSBP/OPT-BOOK to appear on the screen.
The percentage of Revenue may be split over a number of books as well as the cost of the book. This must equal 100%.
Addition and maintenance of text by book is available by the use of the Text button.
The Book Specification program has an option to update the publication date or overseas publication date in the title master file from the Book Specification publication date when the schedule date has changed. TMSBP/PJ-PUBD determines what will be updated if the date has changed.
The system does not check TMSDS/IM-STKR when updating the overseas publication date.
The Update Publication from Schedule program uses TMSBP/EV-EVTT to identify the task to be used to update the publication date instead of searching the entire schedule to find the last completion date on the Project header and Book Spec.
The Publish Date Update program is called if any change in the publication date is made, the ISBN changes or the warehouse date changes. This program automatically updates the publication date to various databases as defined in TMSBP/PJ-PUBD. It also updates the overseas release date, warehouse delivery date and ETA by company.
The Publish date update program includes the update of the ETA date for linked Purchase Orders and this can be defined in TMSBP/PJ-PUBPO. If license titles exist, the Purchase Order ETA date can be updated based on the control file setting.
It also updates the Publication date in the Project Header and Book Specifications, if the ISBN is blank.
TMSBP/PJ-PUBDS determines whether to automatically update single purchase orders per commitment regardless of the exclusion ETA update in Purchase order rule TMSBP/PJ-PUBDT.
TMSBP/PJ-PUBDO determines how to override delivery lead time and determines whether the product used is a local product.
TMSBP/OPT-BOOK is used to allow maintenance or inquiry for specifications. If this Control File is flagged as Yes maintenance is allowed. If it is flagged as No only Inquiry mode is allowed.
If the book is a reprint the system updates the overseas release date in the Title master file and P&A Inquiry screen using the publication date from Book Production. The control file TMSBP/PJ-PUBDA determines whether to use and update the Overseas Release date (which is the publication date for reprints). If there are no outstanding purchase orders in the system then the stock report status changes to ‘RUC’ – Reprint under consideration. If there are outstanding purchase orders in the system the ETA date of all outstanding orders changes to the reprint date.
If the book is a Not Yet Published title and not a reprint then change the publication date in the Title master file and P&A Inquiry screen using the publication date from Book Production and if there are any outstanding purchase orders in the system change the ETA date of all outstanding orders to the publication date.
Note: Lead time is applicable to non-local titles purchased, since lead time has already been added to the schedules of the local titles. Local titles are identified by the local product flag being flagged with a ‘Y’.
If the publication date is changed via Title maintenance, change all outstanding purchase order ETA dates to the ‘new’ pub date + lead time (for foreign titles only). If the reprint date is changed, change all outstanding purchase order ETA to the ‘new’ reprint date + lead time (for foreign titles only). Any changes that are made to the publication date via title maintenance do not affect the project’s publication date.
The user can rearrange the fields on the Specification screen.
When creating a new specification, the materials screen displays after the book specifications have been entered.
Option keys can be re-sequenced to allow for the most frequently used options to be placed at the top of the list or made visible on the first screen. TMSBP/MNT-BS determines the sequencing:
Royalty Contracts can be generated for Book Specifications using the Generate Royalty Contract option. This option must exist in TMSBP/MNT-BS and TMSBP/OPT-BOOK. Once this option is selected the work with Contract screen displays. An ISBN must exist on the Book Specification to allow Royalty Contracts to be generated using this option.
TMSBP/BS-APPRM defines the maximum and minimum number of approvers allowed on the approval list to approve estimates. Only the number of approvers defined here displays on screen when viewing the approval list.
TMSBP/BS-APPGM holds the valid users who belong to the approvers groups defined in TMSBP/BS-APPGR
TMSBP/BS-APPGR holds the valid approval groups.
TMSBP/BS-HDRB determines the fields to be used in each screen id within the Specification function.
TMSBP/MNT-BS defines the valid maintenance options that are available within the Book Specifications option.
TMSBP/OPT-BOOK defines which options are valid for each user. It also determines if the user is allowed to add a new book specs within these options.
The Material screen can be called from Book Specifications
If Work with Royalty Contracts is called from the Book Specification and the contract status is not equal to ‘P’, then all options are in display mode only, with the exception of Copy which allows you to copy an existing Contract to a new one which will be created as a pended status of ‘P’ and Delete is not allowed.
All Royalty Contracts generated from the Book Specification are status ‘P’ (Pending).
The company logic is validated for account set and resources (printer, cover designer, separator, proof reader, resource 1 and 2, typesetter).
