Once a VMI forecast plan is created, replenishment can be generated to issue the stock. The VMI replenishment generation should be run on a regular basis to allow replenishments for stores that have stock that is lower than the maximum stock holdings. Replenishments to a store is determined by minimum stock % as well as by a minimum weight of the items in demand. If total replenishment reaches either of the minimum requirements system will generate replenishments.
It would work out the requirements based on the next delivery date. After replenishment transactions are generated, the system will increase the next delivery date by one delivery term. The system will not generate next replenishment until the next delivery date even if the replenishment option is re-run before the next delivery date.
It is essential that the delivery orders for the stock are approved on the day that the transactions are generated. This would allow the warehouse staff to pick, pack and deliver the goods in time to match the delivery instructions per store.
- In the menu, expand Base Modules > Distribution > Inventory Management > Vendor Managed Inventory and double-click VMI Replenishment Generation. XAR905 VMI Replenishment Generation panel appears.
- Select Yes/No to run in batch mode.
- Click OK to run the replenishment process.
| Note | The system will check the next issue date and the stock will be issued on the issue date for picking and packing and delivery on the next delivery date. |
