Timesheet entry

Timesheet information such as, number of hours used per project can be recorded. The program defaults to the current user’s IBM POWER SYSTEM profile for the Timesheet Entry Employee ID.

Multiple company users on the system who are without profiles can to be entered into the timesheet system.  If the employee ID has a company against it then the currency displays and if a project has been entered the projects company must equal the employees company.

Each employee must enter their own timesheet although some have the authority to enter timesheet details for others.  This is set up on the Employee Masterfile.

All timesheets can be viewed by an employee ID, transaction status, within a date, project IDs, tasks or department range. When TMSBP/TS-RATE is set to 0, Hourly Rate and Total Cost is not displayed in inquiry mode.

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules Book Publishing > Others > Timesheets > Entry and double-click BP Timesheet Entry. BPE600 Time Sheet Entry main panel is displayed.

 Field Description
Employee ID The employee ID defaults to the current user’s profile and cannot be overridden. If the user has the authority (which is set up on the Employee Masterfile), to enter timesheets for other employees this field is maintainable.
Transaction status This is the transaction status for the time sheet entry. Status can be either E for entered or P for processed.
Date The date defaults to the current date and can be overridden. Enter the date for the timesheet.
Department A department is a way of grouping together employees for reporting purposes. This is a code to which the employee’s costs will be credited.
Project This is the project against which the timesheet entry has to be done.
Task A task code identifies a timesheet transaction and is used to determine whether text and/or the project are required.
  1. Click OK to confirm. BPE600 Time Sheet Entry panel for adding, changing or deleting employee id is displayed

Function Description
Add Access Time Sheet Entry in Add mode to add new time sheet.
Format Allows the user to enter timesheets using a different format other than the default format.
 Option Description
Change  Access Time Sheet Entry in Change mode to modify Time Sheet Entry.
Delete  Access Time Sheet Entry in Delete mode to delete Time Sheet Entry.
  1. Click Add to add a time sheet. BPE600 Time Sheet Entry panel in Add mode is displayed.
  2. Enter the required fields and click OK to confirm.
Note  A time sheet cannot be entered for a project with an invalid Bill of Material.
