Works allocation

A Work can have multiple items allocated to it. This program allows you to allocate items to a work or vice versa. After items are allocated to a work, contracts can be created for that work.

Allocate items to a work

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Maintenance and double-click Works Management. DSW020 Work with Works panel appears listing all the existing works.
  2. Select the work to allocate items to and right click option Royalty item. DSW025 Work with Works Allocation panel appears. Any items already allocated will display with the allocated percentage.

Field Description
Item Item allocated to work. you can only enter items that are not 100% allocated to works already.
Description Description of the allocated item.
Max% This is the maximum percentage of the item allowed to be allocated to the selected work. If an item is already allocated to a work then the maximum percentage would be less the already allocated percentage. For example  Item A is already allocated 25% to Work XY then if Item A is being allocated to another work, Max % would be 75%. The sum of all works allocated to an item can not exceed 100%.
Alloc% Percentage of allocation of the item to the work. Allocated percentage must be non zero and up to 100% (depending on previously allocated percentages).
  1. Enter the above details and click OK to save the allocation.
Option Description
Item works This option will display all works already allocated to the selected item.

Allocate works to an item

  1. In the menu, expand Base Modules > Distribution > Masterfiles > Database Management > Database Management > Item Masterfiles > Item Masterfiles > and double-click IM Masterfile Maintenance. DSM015 Item Masterfile Maintenance panel appears.
  2. Enter the item and select option Works and click OK. DSW025 Work with Works Allocation panel appears listing any allocated works.

 

Field Description
Works Work allocated to the item. Multiple works can be allocated as long as the total allocation does not exceed 100%.
Alloc% Percentage of allocation of the work to the item. The total allocated percentage of all works to the item must be 100%.
  1. Enter the above details and click OK to save the allocation.
Option Description
Works This will access DSW020 Work with Works in change mode and display the details of the selected work. 
Contrib This will access DSW015 Work with ISTC Contributor allowing you to add or delete contributors for the selected work.
