Avalara sales tax report can be run by country by state for specific Item level 1 and either by period or document date as required. The excel template (BNR010.xlsx) for the report must reside on the network folder as setup in the server path defined in XAM160 Data Exchange and control file ********/DE-SVR.
- Expand menu Other Modules > Other Regions > US Options > US and Canadian Taxation and double- click Sales Tax report by state.
- Enter the following information as required for the report file.
| Fields | Description |
| Company | Company code for the company you wish to report on. |
| Country | Select the the country for the sales tax report or leave blank for all countries. |
| State | Use search function to select specific states in the selected country or leave blank to select all states for the above selected country. |
| Location | This is the location of the excel file on your network. The location must be setup in the server path defined in XAM160 Data Exchange and control file ********/DE-SVR. The system will default the defined location. |
| File name | File name of the download file. The total length of file name including the extension of .xlsx has to be less than or equal to 50. |
| File type | Report can be downloaded as an excel file or a csv file. Mandatory field. |
| Item level 1 | This is optional; enter Item item level 1 if you wish to report on sales tax for a specific Item level 1. |
| Period/Doc date | Enter either the Period or the Document date to select transactions by. |
- Click OK to generate the report. The generated excel/csv file will be written to the location specified above.
