EDI outgoing ASN

EDI Outgoing Advance Ship Notices (ASN)
  • EDO600 program is normally called from EDI menu (could be automated). It looks for completed transactions (“C” status on DSTRA00P) and outputs EDASN00P data for customers that require ASNs (see TMSDS/EDI-ASNC)
  • EDASN00P file is used for internal inquiry and reprinting.
  • EDO600 also allows optional selection of container range, doc# range or Cust Ref#.
  • EDO602 allows ASN creation by Whs Run#
  • EDO600D reformats EDASN00P information to EDO600W1 for send via ECN.
  • EDO600E can also be used to reformat this information to EDO600W2 for send via Intercept PC edi package.
  • ECN accept EDO600W1 file format and translate to appropriate EDI standard for end customer.

Note that EDO600W1 contains receiver (customer’s) TPID, but does not contain the sender TPID. ECN are able to determine sender TPID based on ftp delivery into separate user id/folder (e.g. Pearson, Macmillan account have different user id in ftp script).

The customer’s TPID is obtained from TMSDS/EDI-ASNC based on major store. “000” record in this control file is used for the sender TPID which is used in building prefix for SSCC container numbers.
