To arrive at the Picking and Dispatch stage, orders start off in the Order Processing Module and are then passed on from the Customer Service pool where they are at status K to the Warehouse pool where they will be a status D and controlled by Warehouse Work Management function. They are then released for picking from this area via the Release Orders to Pick (WHM070) program.
To be released to the warehouse, Orders must be at status K.
Once released to the warehouse orders move to D status (in picking). However once in the warehouse an additional set of statuses apply to allow the order to be tracked.
Orders can now be released for picking via program WHM070- Release Orders to Pick. However this step can be bypassed for normal paper picking but if this is done, orders can no longer be released by Order Category, they will be released in the order they come through the system. This will create a picking run for the warehouse. At this point the priority of orders can be changed to facilitate faster service for specified customers/orders. The status of these orders will now move from W (available to warehouse) through R (replenishing) if there are replenishments to be done, to A (available to pick).
Picking slips will be printed and pickers will be assigned.
Once picking has been completed confirmation can be made either by run or by individual Picking Slip.
