Generic journals for Database file changes can be maintained in an audit log in IP1; this log is updated when the Process Journals job is run, which can be run either as part of End of Day process or manually. The files included in the log must be configured in control file ********/JNL-FIL. The log can also have the before and after images of the changes as per the configuration.
Pre-requisites & setup
The following business rules have to be setup for Journal Processing for Generic files. These business rules must be setup with support from Iptor IP1 consultants. It is critical to understand the setting of control files and how it works. Control files must be setup correctly for the system to operate as intended. Any changes to the control files setup should be addressed cautiously and in consultation with Iptor IP1 consultants. Note: This document does not cover customised setup tasks of specific companies. Deviations from this setup should be covered by setup tasks written by individual companies.

Setup all the files that require journalling.
Files – list all the masterfiles that require journalling Receive image – on update *AFTER will only capture the look of the change; *BOTH will capture the look of the change before and after the change. Primary program – any other program that must be run in addition to the secondary program. Secondary program – this is the processing program that will process the journals and update the audit log for the changes (JNO200). Comment – optional |
