Tax exemption numbers for customers can be uploaded to US Tax exemptions database from excel if required. Once uploaded it can be maintained via Customer Tax exemption maintenance program. On upload the system will update Other tax no field in Customer masterfile with *Yes. If there was an existing Tax number on the Customer masterfile it will be cleared and written to the US Tax exemptions database with reason ‘***’ and expired. This will ensure the newly uploaded tax exemption number is used. The upload excel file must be built using the template (BNW150.xlsx) provided.
- Expand menu Other Modules > Other Regions > US Options > US and Canadian Taxation and double- click Customer Tax Exemption Upload. BNW150 Customer Tax Exemption Number Upload panel appears.
- Enter the following information for the excel upload file. Ensure the excel exists in the location specified below with the required data..
| Fields/Function | Description |
| Location | This is the location of the excel file on your network. The location must be setup in the server path defined in XAM160 Data Exchange and control file ********/DE-SVR. The system will default the defined location. |
| File name | Excel file with the upload data; it must be in the above location. |
| Sheetname | If there are multiple sheets in the upload excel file then you can nominate the sheetname, otherwise the system will default it as Sheet1. |
| Show Excel | Use this function to display the excel file contents. It can be used to view any errors with the upload data. |
- Click OK to start the upload. On successful upload message ‘File uploaded successfully’ will display. If there any errors it will be highlighted on the excel.
