The Order Processing and Billing system (OPB) stores all outstanding orders created during the order entry or release routines. Outstanding Order Types are: Backorders, Forward Orders (scheduled and unscheduled), Reservation Orders, Quotations and Lost Orders. The Outstanding Orders Management function allows for the maintenance, cancellation and release of these orders. Outstanding orders can be released manually or automatically and can be merged with recently placed orders if required.
Drop Shipments can be processed to cater for backorders being placed with stock being supplied directly to the customer by the supplier. The goods do not physically enter the warehouse but logical transactions in and out of the warehouse will be processed. The Purchasing module links a purchase order to a sales order by referencing the Customer Account Number and Reference Number on the Purchase Order. [Read more…]
