Promotions
A promotions package is a way of setting up a group of titles to be sold at a discounted rate under a special promotion, for a set length of time. You can define multiple discount rates for the purchase of promotion packages. For example initial discount rates, which are given for the initial purchase of the promotion package and then backup discount rates given after the initial purchase. You can also define the minimum number of titles allowed to be purchased in order to receive the promotion package rates.
After initial set up of the promotion package in the system the next step is to assign the customers or group of customers who are eligible to purchase the package.
Promotion maintenance
This promotion package maintenance program is used to maintain promotion package header and detail information as well as budget and discount information.
After a promotion package has been set up and customers have been set up to purchase the promotion package, orders for the package can be entered through the Order Processing Module. When entering the customer number on the first entry screen in Order Entry, you will need to enter the package in the Promotion ID field. If the condition for the promotion is met then a list of all the titles belonging to that promotion package will display and then all you need to do is enter the quantity of each title the customer wants to purchase.
For web orders, when a promotion ID is supplied but the condition is not met, the system will roll back and recalculate price/discount/bonus as if Promotion was not entered and a warning message will be issued ‘Promotion ID ignored as sales condition not met, order recalculated as per normal’. The web site can relate this warning to the consumer, who can either alter the order to meet the criteria, or confirm the order without promotional incentive.
Coupons
Customer focused rewards and incentives can be set up within Iptor IP1, based on the sales order or the sales order line. Coupons must be linked to order based incentives. On order entry, the system will check and apply all the applicable bonuses.
