This program is used for automatic assembly and disassembly of Bins, Pack or Systems. Stock availability will be checked in the default zone or location defined in TMSDS/WH-PACKL. With the default location, only the stock in the default location will be utilised in the pack/system makeup. If the component stock is not available in the default location then the pack/system will not be assembled. Similarly the pack or system stock must reside in the default location for disassembly. If the default zone or location is not defined then any location within the selected warehouse will be used.
With automatic assembly/disassembly the pack/system stock level would be updated to reflect the total packs/systems available. However if a pack/bin is flagged to be made via a work order (as defined on TMSDS/PACK-ICC), pack stock will not be updated by this program, it will only be increased after all the components are picked and confirmed in the pick/pack confirmation process for the work order. For the setup and the procedure for Pack/Bin makeup via work order please see SOP – Packs/Bins Assembly/Disassembly via Work Order.
This process updates the cost on the Daily Transaction Detail File and is therefore available on the audit report which can be generated in completion of the make up process depending on the setup in TMSDS/DSE170. The default adjustment code is available in TMSDS/DSE170.
There is functionality to determine when stocks of components are available or unavailable depending on the program entered in TMSDS/WH-SOHA. Generally the Price and Availability panel could count backorder and forward stock as available.
Assemble or disassemble bins/pack or system
- In the menu, expand Base Modules > Distribution > Inventory Management > Warehouse Management > Non RF Stock Control > Stock Adjustments > Systems/Packs and double-click WH System/Pack Makeup. DSE170 Pack/System Assembly/Disassembly panel appears.
Field | Description |
Pack/System | Valid ISBN for the system or pack. Assembly/Disassembly component details will be displayed for this system or pack. |
Warehouse | Logical warehouse that will determine the physical warehouse and default location/zone for automatic pack & system assembly/disassembly. |
- Enter the pack or system ID and warehouse. Click OK to confirm the selection. DSE170 Pack/System Assembly/Disassembly panel appears listing the following details.
Field | Description |
System stock | Number of systems currently in stock |
O/S Work ord | Number of packs on outstanding work order, that is yet to be picked/confirmed. |
Max assembly | Total number of systems that can be made with the currently available required components in the selected warehouse location/zone. |
Max disassembly | Total number of systems that can be dissembled for the warehouse location/zone. |
Required qty | Quantity of made systems/packs required according to stock available. |
Component | Part of the system that makes the system/pack. |
WHS instruct | Optional warehouse instructions can be entered which will be updated to Transaction text file (DSTRE00P). |
Qty per | Total quantity of each component that makes the system/pack. |
Stock avail | Available stock of each component that make up the system/pack. Any components on outstanding work order will be reserved and hence not included as available stock. |
- Enter the required quantity for an assembly or disassembly. For an assembly enter a positive quantity of the Bin, Pack or System to be made up. For a disassembly enter a negative quantity(minus sign after the number) of the Bin, Pack or System to be disassembled.
- Click OK to complete the process of assembly or disassembly of bins or packs or systems.
Stockable Bins, Packs and Systems can have have non-stocked components. On assembly these non-stocked components are not checked for availability and does not generate a write-down transaction and on disassembly it will be automatically lost and will not generate a write-up transaction.
