Work with Notification allows you to setup notifications that can be issued for outstanding incidents or it can be defined to be issued when a task in a CRM activity is activated.
Setup a notification
- In the menu, expand Publishing Modules> CRM > CRM Maintenance > CRM Templates > Work with Notification. XAW450 Work with Notification panel appears listing all the existing notifications.
- To setup a new notification, click function Add.
Field | Description |
Notification ID | Notification ID to uniquely identify the notification. |
Description | Brief description of the notification to describe its use. |
Function | Notification function is setup in *******/NT-FUNC to identify whether the notification is for a CRM incident or for a CRM activity task. Select the appropriate function. |
Notice type |
Notice type determines if the notification is to be sent before or after the specified number of days:

Notice days/Freq | Number of days before or after that the notification needs to be sent and the number of times to send. E.g. If the notification is for CRM incident and notice type = After and the Notice days = 30, then the notification will sent 30 days after the Incident due date. |
Subj | Subject of the notification. |
Text | Actual text of the notification can be setup using the variables defined on control file nominated for the specified function. |
- Enter a 10-character notification ID and a description.
- Select the function as an incident if the notification is for outstanding incident or as an activity if the notification is to be linked to an activity task. The functions are defined in ********/NT-FUNC with pre-defined variables (TMSCRM/NT-VAR) that can be used for the notification.
- You can select to send the notification before or after the specified number of days and the frequency of the notification.
- Enter the subject and the text; select and use the variables specified on control file nominated on ********/NT-FUNC.
- Click OK to save the notification. The saved notification can now be selected to be used on an incident template or against an activity task.
