Expense accounts

Committed & Uncommitted

GL Expense Account Entry program is used to enter the General Ledger Expense accounts to form the link between Book Production module and the Accounts Payable and General Ledger systems.  This program enables the user to enter the committed/uncommitted and amortization expense accounts used by the Book Production system.

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules Book Publishing > Account Maintenance.
  2. To enter committed expense accounts, double-click BP Committed Expense Accounts. GLE355 Expense Accounts (BP) – Committed main panel appears.
  3. To enter uncommitted expense accounts, double-click BP Uncommitted Expense Accounts. GLE355 Expense Accounts (BZ) – Uncommitted main panel appears.
  4. Enter the following information.
Field Description
Seq  The sequence number is used to determine the order in which the general ledger account is to appear on the entry screen and reports. If a general ledger account is entered and a sequence number is not specified, it is automatically placed at the bottom of the list and given a system generated sequence number. If a sequence number has been specified, the system re-sequences the list of accounts once the <ENTER> key has been pressed.
Major The Major Account portion of the General Ledger account must be entered.
Minor The Minor Account portion of the General Ledger account.
Account The description of the Major account.
  1. Click OK to save the expense accounts.
Note The sequence of the committed and uncommitted expense accounts can be changed.
