Royalty inquiries

The following inquiries are available for Royalties Rights & Permissions.

If you want to inquire on… Then… 

Royalty Inquiry

This is a master Royalty inquiry with multiple selection fields allowing you to inquire on one or multiple contracts based on a range of selection.
  1.  In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Inquiry . RYI000 Royalty Inquiry selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the selection fields as required and click OK. Selected contracts are displayed.
View available options on this panel
Option  Description 
Contract  Accesses RYI005 Contract Inquiry in inquiry mode to display existing details for a contract. 
Movement definition  Accesses RYI010 Movements Inquiry in inquiry mode to display movement definition details. 
Payee shares  Accesses RYM110 Payee Shares in inquiry mode to display payee shares for the selected contract. 
Advance Accesses RYM140 Advance Details in inquiry mode to display payee advances for the selected contract. 
Balance Accesses RYW010 Work with Royalty Contract Detail panel listing all the payees for the contract. Select the payee and use option Balance to view the Royalty balance inquiry for the selected payee.
Works Accesses RYM180 Royalty Works to view all the work details for the selected contract.
Rtn prov Accesses RYM170 Royalty Return Provision to view the returns provision for all the items on the selected contract.
Rights Accesses RYM190 Works Subrights to view all the associated subrights for the works in the selected contract.
Tracking Accesses RYM175 Royalty Tracking Maintenance to display the track details of the selected contract.

Royalty payee inquiry

Lists all royalty contracts for a selected payee.
  1.  In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Payee Inquiry (Author) . RYI000 Royalty Inquiries by Payee selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Payee and click OK.

Royalty title inquiry

Lists all contracts for a title.

  

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Title Inquiry . RYI000 Royalty Inquiries by Item selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Item and click OK.

Royalty agent inquiry

This inquiry lists all royalty contracts by payee for a selected agent.

  

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Agent Inquiry . RYI000 Royalty Inquiries by Agent selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Agent and click OK.

Royalty LTD sales inquiry:movement

This Inquiry lists sales by movement type up to a particular period.
  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty LTD Sales Inq. RYI050 LTD Sales selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Item, Contract and Period.
  3. Click OK.

Royalty balance by contract

This Inquiry displays royalty sales balance information by contract and period. Each value is rounded to whole currency amounts.  A total for each amount in each column displays. Withholding tax method is to be determined by the company. For each company the withholding tax method is defined to determine how the tax is calculated. The available methods are – On payment and On earned Royalty.

The inquiry also includes taxable cost (as others) and deferred cost transferred (as current others).

  

  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Balance by Contract Inquiry . RYI200 Royalty Balance by contract selection panel appears.
  2. Enter Contract and Period.
  3. Click OK.

Royalty balance by payee

This Inquiry displays royalty sales balance information by payee (author) and period. A total for each amount in each column displays. Withholding tax method is to be determined by the company. For each company the withholding tax method is defined to determine how the tax is calculated. The available methods are – On payment and On earned Royalty.

 
  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Balance by Payee Inquiry. RYI210 Royalty Balance by Payee selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Payee and the Royalty period and  click OK.

To display balance details of a contract for a payee and royalty period combination use the Balance details option.

Royalty balance by agent

This Inquiry displays royalty sales balance information by agent and period. A total for each amount in each column displays. Withholding tax method is to be determined by the company. For each company the withholding tax method is defined to determine how the tax is calculated. The available methods are – On payment and On earned Royalty. It also includes taxable cost (as others) and deferred cost transferred (as current others).
  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty balance by Agent. RYI230 Royalty Balance by Agent selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Agent and the Royalty period and  click OK.

To display balance details of contract for a payee and royalty period combination use the Balance details option.

Royalty sales details

This inquiry displays sales and royalty by contract by item.
  1. In the menu, expand Publishing Modules > Rights & Permission > Royalty Inquiries and then double-click Royalty Sales Details. RYI060 Royalty Sales Details selection panel appears.
  2. Enter the Period and/or Payee and Item.
  3. Click OK.

Export option allows output to a csv file.
