Copy old orders

Any old orders currently stored on the system can be retrieved and duplicated, regardless of the status of the order. This effectively allows the user to retrieve and reactivate even rejected or cancelled orders. An old order can be copied from the same customer or copied from another customer.

This copy facility is of great assistance in batch order entry, whereby identical orders need to be entered for several customers. On entry of the customer number and using Copy old order, a history of previously entered orders is displayed. The retrieve function offers the facility to copy orders from different customers to the original customer. This requires the user to replace the original customer number with the code of the customer whose order is to be duplicated.

All relevant orders display and the desired order can be selected for duplication and, if so required, maintenance. An order can be duplicated including the original prices (option 1), or showing ISBNs and order quantities only (option 2). By leaving a price field blank, the system will refer to the current system price for the item. The transaction inquiry can be accessed which enables you to view the original order.

Old orders can be duplicated provided no entries have been made on the new order panel.  A history of previously entered orders displays and the desired order can be selected for duplication. The duplicated order can be maintained as required.

Consignment sales can be imported using this Copy function. The search facility by customer, document type, customer reference and document date assists with the selection of the order to be copied. The order type, which is established in TMSDS/OM-OTO points to the right document type, document sub-type and picking method for the order selection. The normal order process continues after the selection so that actual sale lines may be maintained. Any consigned stock not sold will remain on consignment until it is “returned from consignment” which is a stock transfer back.
