Customers capable of electronic trading are identified to the system, with the EDI standards (e.g. ANSI X12 or EDIFAC orders), the mailbox used and the transmission/reception cycle codes (e.g. B02 = Weekly customers on Telstra mailbox). Customers receive a Trading Partner ID (TPID) which is used to deposit and retrieve information from the mailbox. Customers may also be allocated a standard account number, or SAN if using BISAC.
