Price rounding

The Auto Pricing Rounding Maintenance screen displays summary information such as price breaks, rounding methods, rounding values and value codes.

Several price-rounding methods are available to the user, and through the use of price breaks, multiple rounding methods can apply to each Title.

Field Description
Rounding table

This is a user defined field defining the particular rounding method.

Example:

000 = Zero rounding method

001 = Nearest rounding method to .05 cents.

003 = Nearest rounding method to .50 cents

Key level  Choose the level from the Title hierarchy.
Class type This field is only valid when using TMSDS/IM-LVL=I7 Title Classification.
Actual key This field is valid when using a Key Level other than I7 and I9.  For example, if I2 was used then a Level Four code established in TMSDS/IM-IL4 would be a valid entry.
Price break The Price entered determines the Title price range to which the rounding criteria will apply.

Example:

9999999.99 = This will apply to all price ranges,

100.00 = This will apply to all prices up to this price.

Rounding method The rounding methods are: no rounding off, round up or round down, to the nearest rounding value, round to a fixed rounding value.  Valid codes are: 0=None, 1=Up, 2=Down, 3=Nearest, 4=Fixed.
Rounding value This field is only applicable for rounding methods Up, Down, Nearest, or Fixed.  It is not applicable if rounding method is None.

If price definition is either Markup or GP % and rounding method is Fixed then any auto price computed is ignored and the system uses the rounding value from the rounding definition as the price.

Otherwise rounding method Fixed does not mean anything if the calculation method in the price definition is Fixed since the value setup in the price definition takes precedence over the value setup in the rounding definition.

Value code  The following is applicable in the Value Code field:

1 = Actual rounding or 2 = multiple of rounding value. Price rounding, value criteria codes are established in TMSDS/PR-RNDVC.

Calculation for Actual = 1:

0 = None – computed price is the final price.

1 = Up – The computed price is rounded up to, based on the rounding value.

2 = Down – The computed price is rounded down, based on the rounding value.

3 = Nearest – The computed price is either rounded up or down (whichever is nearer to the computed price) based on the rounding value.

4 = Fixed – For calculation method 1 (markup) or 2 (GP %), the rounding value is used as the fixed price ignoring any previously computed prices.

For calculation method 4 (fixed), this field is irrelevant.

Calculation for Multiple = 2

0=None

1=Up  similar to calculation for actual except that the price is adjusted

2=Down further to be divisible by the rounding value

3=Nearest same as for Actual (1)

4=Fixed Not valid for multiple calculation
