Work with campaigns

Work with Campaigns controls working with mailing lists by combining Campaign List Maintenance and Campaign Maintenance.

The initial screen is used to add and maintain campaigns, add text to a campaign, search for an existing campaign using the filter function (F17), add and maintain Campaign profiles and work with Campaign lists.

The Campaign Masterfile stores a variety of statistical data including mailing quantity and type of Customers to mail to and sales forecasts. The system automatically tracks sales and returns by campaign and then calculates various ratios including response rates, cost per unit and average order value.

Establishing a Campaign masterfile is optional and is only needed if analysis is to be done on a Campaign, for example actual VS estimates. As part of the End of Day routine, the system updates details on the Campaign masterfile based on identifying a Campaign Number on a Sales Order and a Customer flagged as a Direct Mail customer. Various Inquiries and Reports are available to access Campaign details for analysis. [Read more…]

Field Description
Interest code  A customer may have multiple Interests and when a Mailing List is selected, it can include one or more Interest codes. Interest codes are entered in Campaign Maintenance.  Interest codes enable the marketing division to target their campaigns towards the prospect’s interests and needs.  Mailing Lists can be generated based on criteria such as interests, profession and group. Interest code is also one of the fields in the campaign search Filter Function.
Customer class  The Customer type code groups customers into various categories, such as Hobbyist, Architect, Business person, Doctor etc.  These categories enable the marketing/sales department to target specific groups with their campaigns, by nominating one or more customer types as mailing list selection criteria.  Or a combination of Interest codes and customer type can be used for a campaign list selection.
Type of sale  The Type of sale code is used for Direct Mail Sales Analysis done in the Distribution system.  The Type of Sale code used also determines what entry is required in the Reference field and for Direct Mail orders this should be the Campaign number.
